Charis Cancer Care was delighted to join 380 business leaders at the recent GEMBA Lean Summit in the Titanic Belfast on 20th & 21st October. This joint initiative run by Gemba Docs and Lean Made Simple was the brainchild of Ryan Tierney, part of Tierco Group and newly appointed Managing Director of Sperrin Metals.
Claire Hughes, Corporate Fundraiser for Charis Cancer Care had the honour of addressing an audience at their gala dinner, shedding light on the invaluable work of the charity. Located in Mid-Ulster, Charis Cancer Care extends its support to anyone affected by cancer across the whole of Northern Ireland, ensuring that no one faces their cancer journey alone.
Much like the principles of Lean, which focus on transforming chaos to calm, Charis embodies a similar mission by providing emotional, psychological, and practical support during the most challenging times. Claire spoke about the many benefits of business charitable partnerships other than just the fundraising element – supporting Charis strengthens the business CSR and ESG credentials, engages staff in meaningful ways and differentiates a business as it shows employees and customers that you care about more than just profits.
The night was filled with energy and enthusiasm with attendees standing and applauding the charity’s vital cause and the call to help us put the FUN into FUNdraising.
