Thinking of hiring a software apprentice in 2026?

There’s still time to be part of a coordinated recruitment campaign in Jan/Feb 2026, for September 2026 starts.

Software for All is a partnership between SoftwareNI and early talent experts Workplus. It is designed to increase the number of software apprentices in Northern Ireland, with a particular focus on inspiring women to consider a career in the sector.

This project isn’t just for software companies, it’s for employers from all sectors who rely on software and digital skills.

Ruth Harper, Project Manager at Workplus, said, “Software for All is about connecting employers with motivated, work ready software talent, and, on the applicant side, inspiring school leavers and career changers about the exciting career opportunities that exist in software. We would especially welcome employers who have never hired apprentices before to be part of this project – they’ll be supported through the entire process.”

Through this project, your organisation can:

  • Avail of support from Workplus to match courses to your role
  • Access the Workplus portal, allowing easy upload and management of opportunities
  • Recruit through coordinated campaigns, including extensive promotion
  • Be part of a collaborative, sector-wide approach
  • Access mentor training
  • All at no cost to your business
