The Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) is expected to be tasked over 60 times this December alone, delivering advanced pre-hospital critical care to people across the province.
Air Ambulance NI relies on public and corporate generosity to sustain its life-saving work and has a daily fundraising need of £8,200. On average, the air ambulance is needed twice a day to attend to a critically ill or injured patient. This service ensures that a consultant and paramedic team can fly directly to a patient, averaging 180mph, to deliver hospital-level interventions right where they are needed most. This immediate, on-site care is often the crucial difference between life and death.
