As Queen’s University celebrates its 180th year, the NI Science Festival is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the real-world impact that our scientists make every day, through research, our students and partnerships with communities locally, nationally and internationally.
WHAT:
Queen’s University will host more than 60 hands-on activities, talks and events during the Northern Ireland Science Festival, which begins next week (10th Feb) and runs until Sunday 22nd February.
The events at Queen’s will showcase the real-world impact of research, education and partnerships.
World-class scientists will be on hand to discuss cutting-edge research and what the future might hold.
Talks will be held on topics including:
- Call the Midwife! A brief history of pregnancy and childbirth
- Shocking: The Untold History of Psychiatry and Sexuality in Northern Ireland
- The Joy of Missing Out – Breaking Free From Our Phones
- Causes and Consequences of Toxic Masculinity
Many interactive events will also be held, including:
· Maps and Memories at 2 Royal Avenue
· From Movement to Magic: Real Time Motion Capture and Visual Effects
There will also be a special event on Saturday 14th February, “Why Queen’s, Why 1845?”.
