Event Description

The Growth Impact Fund is a social investment fund, helping fast growth early-stage social businesses to grow their impact. It is a joint venture run in partnership with  Big Issue Invest, UnLtd and Shift.

It exists to make social investment better for founders from underrepresented backgrounds and their teams.

 

Great social leaders come from all backgrounds, but many have been excluded from accessing the capital and support they need to thrive. The Growth Impact Fund is here to change that. It aims for a minimum of fifty percent of the fund to go to businesses who are already led by diverse teams, and to support social businesses who are aiming to increase their commitments to equity, diversity and inclusion.

 

The Growth Impact Fund will support organisations with more than money, including access to grants during the investment process, a dedicated portfolio manager throughout the life of the investment, and access to resources to help them navigate the process.

 

The fund aims to be open, transparent and jargon-free, with decisions led by what’s right for social entrepreneurs.

Big Issue Invest Fund Management Ltd (BIIFM) is the fund manager for the Growth Impact Fund, and the fund is addressed to professional investors only.

 

Who is it for?

 

UK social businesses and registered charities which:

• are led by diverse teams*
• are looking to grow their trading income and social impact
• are interested in seeking social investment (repayable finance)

Organisations that demonstrate a clear commitment to improving diversity, equity and inclusion may also be eligible for investment
