Songs for Syria Concert
11 Apr 2014
April 11, 2014
More than two years of war in Syria have had a devastating impact on Syrian families, leaving more than 6 million people urgently in need of aid. The Syrian health system has effectively collapsed in many parts of the country, with water supplies cut and food in short supply. Refugees are finding camps stretched to capacity. Even some people who’ve made it to nearby countries, and indeed those who have remained inside Syria are reported to be starving to death. As fathers and mothers ourselves it's hard to comprehend not being able to do anything to save your child from starvation. The situation is desperate and heartbreaking.
Working with the ‘Disasters Emergency Committee…’ of the Syrian Crisis Appeal, an organization making a real impact in Syria, we’ve assembled a group of very talented musicians like The Farriers, Anthony Tonner, Master & Dog, Seven Summits, Owen Lamont and Peter McVeigh for a concert on Friday April 11th at The Empire Music Hall Belfast, all of us united in the common cause of helping the Syrian people. Tickets are only £5 in advance or £6 at the door. We urge you to come out, bring your friends and family, for a great night of music as well as prizes and raffles all benefiting an incredibly important cause.
