Retail and Fashion – Display, Customer Service & Distinction
This is a Belfast City Council workshop in collaboration with Go Succeed and The Business Zone: EMEEN Initiative.
Audience: Clothing stores, footwear, mobile accessories, tailors, general retail.
This event is a practical workshop designed to support Belfast’s retail and fashion businesses to strengthen standards, customer experience, and commercial confidence. The session brings together local retailers, sector specialists, and business support organisations to share insight, learn from real-world practice, and explore how strong visual presentation and inclusive customer service can drive footfall, loyalty, and a positive high-street reputation.

Time: Please arrive from 09:45am for a 10:00am start. Ends at 12:30pm
Objectives
– Improve operational and customer-facing standards within the sector.
– Create a space for shared learning and mutual recognition.
– Strengthen economic and social capital across diverse business communities.
– Build a sense of collective identity and shared high street values.
Workshop content
Visual Merchandising & In-Store Presentation:
– Window displays that drive footfall
– Organising shop layout for flow and clarity
– Affordable ways to update seasonal looks
Inclusive Customer Service & Conflict Management:
– Communicating across cultures with respect
– Managing returns, complaints, and difficult situations
– Encouraging repeat custom and community reputation
