Join us over two half days sessions, for our 2-part Data Visualization using Power BI programme, facilitated by Accredited Microsoft Master Instructor, Louise Friel, and through practical, interactive exercises, you’ll gain a comprehensive understanding of Power BI’s capabilities, including:

Getting Started with Power BI: Introduction to Power BI, connecting to data sources, and navigating the report canvas.

Creating Visualizations: Building basic visuals, selecting appropriate chart types, and understanding axes and legends.

Formatting Techniques: Applying titles, data labels, colors, and themes to enhance visualization clarity.

Working with Filters: Utilizing visual, page, and report-level filters, including Top N filtering and date hierarchies.

Advanced Visuals: Exploring matrix visuals, maps, AI charts (Q&A, word cloud, decomposition), and clustering techniques.

Power BI Dashboards: Understanding the differences between Power BI Desktop and Service, publishing reports, and creating dashboards from reports/tiles.

While not mandatory, basic MS Excel knowledge will be beneficial. Participants must use a Windows-based laptop or computer to fully participate in the sessions as Power BI will not work on Apple devices (e.g. MacBooks). You will also be asked to download the Power BI Desktop application in advance of the course as this is the tool we will be using during the session.
