CBAM is now in force, and for many businesses this is the first time it’s becoming a real, day-to-day issue. It is already in force in the Republic of Ireland, and will come into effect in Northern Ireland on 01/01/2027.
Importers must now report carbon emissions for certain goods and manage CBAM certificates correctly. If the data is missing or inaccurate, it can lead to delays, extra costs, or goods being held at the EU border.
