Event Description
Join Little Heroes for an unforgettable day in the Mournes as we walk side-by-side with the RBHSC Paediatric Team. By taking part in the Big Hero Hike, you are raising vital funds for the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children, ensuring that our “Little Heroes” receive the best possible care and support.
This is a rare chance to trek alongside the frontline healthcare staff who dedicate their lives to these children, all while surrounded by the natural beauty of County Down.
A stunning 14-mile loop starting and finishing in Newcastle, County Down. This updated route gets the biggest climb out of the way first, heading straight up Slieve Donard at the start before taking on the rest of the peaks and trails:
- Slieve Donard (The highest peak!)
- Slieve Commedagh (The second highest peak!)
- Slievenaglogh
- Tollymore Forest & Donard Forest
This hike is hard/strenuous. A good level of fitness is required for this route. Duration: Approx. 7–8 hours
We kindly ask that you fundraise for taking part.
