UK’s Director General for Exports addresses Danske Bank Export First event – September 2018
The UK’s first Director General for Exports met with 60 of Northern Ireland’s top exporters at an event hosted by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) and Danske Bank in September 2018.

Sharing the Andor Export Success Story – May 2018
Gary Wilmot, Managing Director at Andor Technology shared the inspirational export growth story of the world leading scientific imaging manufacturer setup out of Queen’s University in 1989.
Andor develops and manufactures high performance digital cameras; its founders, working in the Physics department of Queen’s University, Belfast, found that the cameras then available were inadequate for their demanding applications, so developed their own. After using them in various imaging and spectroscopic applications they found they were being requested by researchers in other departments in Queen’s and other universities. Andor was formed to take advantage of these requirements.
The company has grown organically and is today the fastest growing company manufacturing high performance digital cameras and employs over 400 people in 16 offices worldwide and distributes its products to 10,000 customers in 55 countries.

Sharing the HeartSine Technologies Export Success Story – March 2017
HeartSine was a university spin out and was founded by Prof John Anderson in 1997 and makes public access defibrillators.
It is based in Belfast, at the Harbour Estate where all HeartSine defibrillators are made on site. HeartSine employs over 140 people in Belfast with a global distribution network servicing over 70 countries in 34 languages.
HeartSine was acquired by Physio-Control in October 2015 and then Stryker in April 2016. HeartSine is now part of Stryker Medical. Stryker is one of the world’s leading medical technology companies and, together with our customers, we are driven to make healthcare better.

Sharing the Old Bushmills Distillery Export Success Story – March 2016
Dating back to 1608, the Bushmills Distillery is the oldest licensed distillery in the world. As of 2015, it has transitioned from ownership by Diageo plc to Casa Cuervo. The distillery is a popular tourist attraction, with around 120,000 visitors per year. All of the whiskey bottled under the Bushmills whiskey brand is produced at the Bushmills Distillery. A licence to distill in the area was granted to Sir Thomas Phillipps in 1608 by King JamesI, and the 1608 date is printed on the labels of the Bushmills brand whiskey. It uses water drawn from Saint Columb’s Rill which is a tributary of the River Bush.
“Export is at the heart of our continuing success story” – that’s according to David Gosnell, Chairman of The Old Bushmills Distillery, one of Northern Ireland’s leading and oldest exporters. Mr Gosnell was speaking at the latest ‘Danske Bank Export First’ event which took place at the world famous Old Bushmills Distillery.

The third event took place in the Ulster Museum, 26 guests heard the inspirational growth story of Automated Intelligence from Mark Godfrey and Simon Cole.

Sharing the Devenish Nutrition Export Success Story – March 2015
