The following role is a permanent, part-time position within a busy and committed team.

ROLE OF THE COMMUNICATIONS EXECUTIVE
The Communications Executive will play a key role within NI Chamber’s Commercial Team, helping to promote NI Chamber and its services to a range of stakeholder groups.

The successful candidate will utilise a wide range of online and offline communications tactics to engage existing members and target new ones. The Communications Executive will work as part of a team to execute elements of NI Chamber’s sales and marketing plan and contribute ideas towards the development of that plan.

KEY FOCUS AREAS

  • Provide engaging and informative copy across core business areas including events, programmes, training and membership, identifying benefits to the intended audience
  • Generate email marketing communications for these core business areas – as well as monthly and weekly newsletters for the NI Chamber membership
  • Draft and distribute press releases
  • Manage PR photography
  • Provide support with collating content for NI Chamber’s bi-monthly magazine
  • Create a regular calendar of digital and social media content for marketing campaigns, driving web traffic and social engagement
  • Upload content to the NI Chamber website on a daily basis
  • Prepare effective presentations for the wider NI Chamber team
  • Support the realisation of NI Chamber’s sponsor agreements by facilitating contractual communications elements in a timely and effective manner
  • Support the collection and maintenance of the company’s corporate database ensuring that the database is compliant with current Regulatory and Legislative requirements
  • Assist in the delivery of the overall NI Chamber strategy
  • Report on marketing campaigns via internal dashboards (Microsoft Dynamics and PowerBi) and to NI Chamber’s partners via annual reports
  • Perform duties to the standards laid down in specific quality standards such as ISO 9001 procedures, as per NI Chamber’s procedure manual
  • Undertake any other duties required, as directed by the Head of Communications, the Senior Communications Manager and the Chief Executive of NI Chamber.

PROFESSIONAL CRITERIA

Essential

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a communications focused role
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Evidence of very strong copyrighting, editing and proof-reading skills
• Experience in media relations, including drafting and distributing press releases
• Experience of using website CMS systems (such as WordPress) in a professional environment
• Experience of using social media platforms in a professional environment
• Customer focused, with an ability to build strong business relationships

Desirable 
• Professional communications qualification or certified training
• Experience of digital content creation, particularly in a B2B setting
• A knowledge of the business landscape in Northern Ireland and globally, including current relevant issues/challenges
• Experience of using CRM systems, such as Microsoft Dynamics and Hubspot
