When you’re a specialty supplier of mining, quarrying and recycling machinery and selling over 80% your goods abroad, your export operation has to be slick and efficient. Delays cost money and lead to lost customers. When it works smoothly, it ensures that you’re ahead of the game.
With a rich heritage of design and manufacturing excellence, Powerscreen has grown to become a leading force in the original equipment manufacturing (OEM) sector. Their machines and plant equipment cover the full range of materials processing requirements for their customers in the mining, quarrying, demolition and recycling industries.
Powerscreen’s global network of over 110 dealers sell in-excess of 50 product lines across the world. Powerscreen dealers provide continuing customer support for both parts and service to ensure optimum performance from any Powerscreen machine.
“We have been working with the Northern Ireland Chamber for many years,” says Export Team Leader Avril Hill. “The electronic online certification service was recommended to us by the Chamber and since then we have been applying and receiving approved electronic documents smoothly and efficiently. It’s definitely much easier. You can review everything before you submit it, you can spot spelling mistakes and it’s a lot less time consuming doing it on-line.”
“The online system has significantly speeded up the operation, saving as much as two working days over the old all-paper system. Previously, it would take a lot of time to fill out individual documents along with several carbon copies. This then had to be posted to the Chamber where it would be received the following day. If any amendments had to be made, the documents would have been returned to Powerscreen adding an extra day to the process. We find that the Chamber is always there if you need advice with any problem,” adds Avril. “It would be more difficult if we had to do all of this on our own. They’ve been extremely helpful and if you make a mistake, they can assist you in sorting it out.”
