As the world struggles with the challenges of climate change, the need for a skilled workforce and actionable strategies to tackle these issues has never been more critical.

In response to this demand, NI Chamber, NIE Networks and the Department for the Economy invite you to the launch of the Green Skills Action Plan, designed to empower organisations and individuals in developing the skills for a green economy.

The Action Plan, developed by the industry-led Green Skills Delivery Group, provides a comprehensive framework to guide Government, employers, educationalists and individuals on what is needed to deliver the skills and the jobs for the future.

The Group has identified 28 actions across four priority areas:

  • The skills ecosystem
  • A partnership approach to ensure a skills system that is responsive to changing needs
  • Promoting awareness of careers and opportunities in green jobs and green skills
  • Developing a skilled workforce

A commitment from all stakeholders will be crucial for the implementation of the actions on green skills. A panel of expert speakers will discuss how to engage, collaborate, lead by example and champion the cause of green skills for a sustainable economy.

Meet your speakers

  • Dr. Caoimhe Archibald MLA, Economy Minister
  • Moira Doherty, Deputy Secretary – Skills and Education Group, Department for the Economy
  • Gordon Parkes, Executive Director – People & Culture. NIE Networks | Chair, Green Skills Delivery Group
  • Prof David Rooney, Decarbonisation Advisor, Queen’s University Belfast

Demand for this event is expected to be high, so we encourage you to register early to secure your place. Attendance is free of charge.
