NI Chamber responds to UK & NI Industrial Strategies
Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) has recently submitted a response to ‘Economy 2030 – A Draft Industrial Strategy for Northern Ireland’ and the UK’s ‘Building our Industrial Strategy’ Green Paper.
We welcome the fact that the Department for the Economy has taken the bold move to publish a Draft Industrial Strategy at a time of acute uncertainty for the Executive and the local economy. It is important that business and the wider public believe that the government is trying to move forward with some plan as to how to develop and grow the Northern Ireland economy.
In terms of the UK Green Paper, in NI Chamber’s view this is a very positive and constructive paper which recognises the inclusivity needed between government, business and the education sectors to really drive forward UK growth, focusing on improving productivity and competitiveness at its core and in simple terms playing to our combined strengths.
Copies of both NI Chamber responses can be obtained by emailing Christopher Morrow, Head of Communications & Policy at christopher.morrow@northernirelandchamber.com.
