140 appointments as NI Chamber hosts latest Meet The Buyer event

Over 300 businesses from across Northern Ireland and the Republic have joined the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) and Bank of Ireland UK for the latest ‘meet the buyer’ event at the Canal Court Hotel in Newry.
The event, which formed part of the NI Chamber and Bank of Ireland’s cross-border ‘Connecting for Growth’ programme, provided businesses with an opportunity to make a pitch to a range of buyers and to network and forge new business links.
With 140 appointments taking place on the day, businesses got to meet with a number of high-profile buyers including Avondale Foods; Bank of Ireland UK Glen Dimplex; Harland & Wolff; Kingspan; McAleer & Rushe; McAuley Engineering; NI Water; Terex; Tesco and Ulster University.
Ian Sheppard, Regional Director Business & Corporate Banking NI, Bank of Ireland UK said:
“The Connecting for Growth programme is a great partnership between Bank of Ireland UK and Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
“It is a unique way for smaller companies to pitch their products and services to larger Northern Ireland companies, in a mutually beneficial way for both parties.
“One of the main challenges for small business is finding out who in a larger organisation they should talk to, to try to get the opportunity to do business. An event like today therefore gives smaller companies the opportunity to meet the right person.”
