Over 250 businesses from across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland joined Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) and Bank of Ireland UK for the latest ‘meet the buyer’ event at the Ramada Plaza Hotel earlier today.
The event, which formed part of the NI Chamber and Bank of Ireland UK cross-border ‘Connecting for Growth’ programme, provided businesses with an opportunity to make a pitch to a range of buyers whilst networking and developing links with each other through a number of activities including speed networking.
Businesses got to meet with eleven high-profile buyers including: Andras House; Bank of Ireland UK; Fujitsu; Greiner Packaging; Lagan Construction; McKeever Hotels; NIE; Queens University Belfast; Sodexo; TSM Controls and Ulster Rugby.
Ann McGregor, Chief Executive at NI Chamber said:
“We are delighted to have secured the support of key buyers from across Northern Ireland and the cross border regions to meet with suppliers at today’s event. Unlike other meet the buyer initiatives, Connecting for Growth is open to any business that has a product or service our buyers are interested in purchasing. There is no restriction on size, sector or support already received through the public sector. The programme is about creating sales opportunities, building networks and facilitating growth.”
A number of experts were also on hand to provide advice to businesses including Marcella McKeever (Alexander Mann); Angelina Fusco (Angelina Fusco Training); Henry Cleary and John Rice (Bank of Ireland UK); Shirley Branagh (Capita); Jonathon Ireland (Lanyon Communications); James Griffiths (Pinsent Masons) and Graeme Waring (P2V Systems).
