20 representatives of a range of local businesses attended the latest in a series of events organised by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry under its Danske Bank Export First programme
The initiative – which has Danske Bank as the main sponsor – aims to assist local businesses to develop and expand exporting.
The speaker at the dinner in the Merchant Hotel was John O’Donoghue, chief executive of the Noonan Services Group, which was formed in 1977 and now employs over 14,000 people with an annual turnover of £300m.
Mr O’Donoghue told guests: “We have been on a journey over the last 30-odd years which has seen us expand our roots in the Republic of Ireland to Northern Ireland and the GB market.
“Our core business is in strategic out-sourcing solutions, which is largely providing a range of services to the commercial market.”
Celine Magill of Art on Fashion – one of the local business representatives in attendance – said: “Coming to an event like this is all about networking, developing my contacts and hoping to get introductions into new markets.”
