‘Minister on the Move’ initiative reaches Banbridge

Banbridge-based Fane Valley hosted a visit from the Minister for Regional Development, Danny Kennedy MLA, as part of an event held by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) yesterday.
The event formed part of ‘Minister on the Move’ – a business led initiative by NI Chamber in partnership with British Airways and American Airlines which gives businesses the opportunity to speak directly with Ministers form the NI Executive at a number of locations across the province.
Fane Valley Chief Executive Trevor Lockhart provided an overview of the growth journey of the farmer owned co-op, from its establishment in 1903 to being Northern Ireland largest agricultural co-operative. With a turnover of £553m, the company employs 2,200 people across 27 sites in Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, England and Belgium. Mr Lockhart highlighted the critical success factors in the growth of the business to be the development of a winning strategy, investment in people and the creation of a strong business improvement culture.
