NI Chamber presents Craigavon Company with Top Belfast Telegraph Business Award
Craigavon Company AJ Power Ltd picked up the top award for Excellence in Exporting, sponsored by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce & Industry at this year’s Belfast Telegraph Northern Ireland Business Awards, in association with British Airways.
AJ Power manufactures diesel generating sets and associated equipment and export almost 100% of its range to 55 countries around the world. A successful alignment with global ‘super brand’ Massey Ferguson through a licensing agreement has helped the Craigavon company open doors in new territories.
At the end of December 2014, AJ Power’s sustained and vigorous approach to securing new customers resulted in a £17.5 million order book compared to £7.6 million in the previous year. Through nurturing existing customer relationships and researching and evaluating new markets, the growth trend has continued into 2015 with January sales hitting a record high of almost £21.5million.
Hosted by BBC’s Wendy Austin, over 350 people attended the awards at the Culloden Hotel, Holywood where after dinner guests were mesmerised by local mentalist David Meade.
