Leading Something Brilliant

Thomas Malnight, Professor of Strategy and General Management at Switzerland’s International for Management Development Institute (IMD), addressed over 150 members of the Northern Ireland business community this morning at a leadership breakfast hosted by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce.
The event, supported by Ulster Bank, was the latest part of NI Chamber’s ‘Growing Something Brilliant’ campaign, an on-going initiative which seeks to showcase the great businesses that we have in Northern Ireland, inspire more businesses to accelerate their growth and highlight how the government can help.
Speaking at the event in Queen’s University Belfast, Mark Nodder, President of NI Chamber of Commerce said:
“Leadership can dramatically improve growth opportunities for businesses, helping to boost productivity, performance and ultimately profit. Today’s breakfast provided our members with an opportunity to hear from Professor Malnight and understand how developing and enhancing leadership ambition, mind-set, and capability can lead to innovative, scalable companies, capable of achieving sustained international growth.”
Professor Malnight works extensively with top leadership teams in challenging how they view their changing competitive landscape, how they shape their future and strategies for moving forward, how they engage and align priorities and actions across their organisations, and how they work together as a focused high performing leadership team.
Professor Malnight is currently interviewing more than 150 CEOs from leading companies around the world as part of the IMD’s latest research initiative “Competing in the Connected Future”. He is the co-author of several books including Global Trends 2012 and Accelerating International Growth.
