The Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Business in the Community’s ARENA Network, brought together buyers from five Northern Ireland companies considered ‘environmental’ champions on the morning of 4 November 2010.
The event welcomed buyers from the following organisations:
- Bombardier
- Phoenix Natural Gas
- Pritchitts
- Southern Education and Library Board
- Ulster Bank
The format of the event allowed for each buyer to meet with small groups of attendees with the buyers taking turns in moving around different tables, allowing all attendees access to the five buyers.
The aim of the event was to help attendees develop a more sustainable business model and get that competitive edge to win tenders and secure new and existing business opportunities. Therefore the focus of the event was on the green, environmental or sustainability credentials which leading businesses are increasingly looking for from suppliers.
The event, one of a series of Mayday Network workshops, also provided participants with support from peers, proving that the sharing of experiences is as always a proven method of encouraging better business practices.
