Belfast’s first tech expo goes live

The widest range of speakers on digital technology ever assembled in Northern Ireland will gather for the first ever TechXplore technology expo in Belfast on Thursday 28th February. The event aims to enable and develop digital technology among businesses, the public sector and entrepreneurs of all ages right across Northern Ireland.
TechXplore is pioneered by the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and MW Advocate in partnership with CME Group, the world’s leading and most diverse financial marketplace. Associate partners include Invest Northern Ireland, Belfast law firm Mills Selig and accountancy firm KPMG.
The half-day event will include speakers who will give their advice, expertise and experience on an array of issues including first steps towards a technology start-up, formulating social media guidelines, accessing finance and new markets, what is cloud and how you can use it to grow your organisation. TechXplore is an unparalleled opportunity to learn from experts across the technology spectrum.
Speaking at the launch, Ann McGregor, Chief Executive, NI Chamber of Commerce said: “TechXplore will see company founders, CEOs, technology professionals and marketing directors gather in Belfast to share their experience and offer advice and expertise to everyone from those running technology firms to those engaged in social media management.
“Our aim is to enable businesses and public sector organisations to make the most of the broad range of technology solutions available and to develop and support this growing and vital part of our economy. Northern Ireland has the potential to become a major global centre of excellence for technology and TechXplore will showcase the region’s world-class expertise,” he added.
The expo includes four sessions and will take place at Riddel Hall, Queen’s University Belfast from 8.30am to 2pm with lunch served. The first session, focusing on the business of technology and will hear from a soon-to-open Belfast start-up, a medium sized technology company and Mark Bennett from CME Group, the event’s principal partner.

The additional sessions will address social media and how to shift organisations into the modern communications era, the legal, business and moral challenges of new technology and also cloud computing and new technology opportunities for Northern Ireland.
