Grid Connection Costs Announcement Welcomed by NI Chamber

Commenting on Economy Minister Caoimhe Archibald’s announcement on grid connection costs, Stuart Anderson, Director of Public Affairs at NI Chamber said, “NI Chamber welcomes the decision announced today by Economy Minister Dr Caoimhe Archibald on new electricity grid connections. Reinforcement costs will now be socialised and spread across all consumers, and over a longer period. This significant policy change reflects the ask made by NI Chamber in its consultation response earlier this year. “This decision matters. It will bring us into line with neighbouring regions, improving our competitiveness as a destination for business investment and decarbonisation. NI Chamber looks forward to continued collaboration with the Department for the Economy and industry partners to ensure the successful and effective implementation of this decision.”
