Our next Employment Law update breakfast seminar on 18 August will provide an invaluable refresher on what has been happening this year in NI from an Employment Law perspective, and provide some food for thought for HR practitioners, managers and business owners.
The session will be hosted by Lisa Bryson employment law specialist from A&L goodbody and will cover the following:
· The Employment Act (Northern Ireland) 2016 – after a long journey which began with the public consultation in 2013 we can now provide an update in relation to what provisions the Act will contain and what you will need to be aware of from an operational perspective;
· A case law update – Including a discussion around the implications of the recent decisions in Ramphal (how far can HR be involved in disciplinary matters) and Tyco (what is working time for mobile workers);
· The Modern Slavery Act - what it really means, why you need to know and action points for you to consider; and
· BREXIT - what are the likely implications of BREXIT on employment and immigration law, and the associated HR considerations linked to the potential risk of discrimination claims arising from BREXIT / a potential border poll discussions in the workplace.
We do hope that you can join us .....
