You are warmly invited to The Eaton Lecture to take place at Queen’s University (on the Lanyon campus) on Thursday 23 March 2017.
Organised by the Chief Executives’ Club at Queen’s and The Centre of Canadian Studies (within the Queen’s School of Natural and Built Environment), guest speaker Professor Meric Gertler, President of the University of Toronto, will give the 2017 Eaton lecture, exploring: “Universities and Urban Regions: A Partnership for Prosperity”. In his address, Professor Gertler will cite a range of successful partnerships across the world.
A panel discussion, compèred by BBC presenter William Crawley, will further explore the topic, from national, European and local perspectives, following Professor Gertler’s presentation. The panel will comprise:
- Professor Björn Asheim, Lund University, Sweden
- Dr Linda Fox-Rogers, Queen’s University Belfast
- Professor Kevin Morgan, Cardiff University
- Dr Joanne Stuart, Catalyst NI, and
- Ms Suzanne Wylie, Belfast City Council.
Pre-lecture refreshments will be served from 5.30pm in The Canada Room, and the lecture and discussion will take place in The Great Hall, beginning at 6pm.
