Sharing the HeartSine Technologies Export Success Story – March 2017
HeartSine was a university spin out and was founded by Prof John Anderson in 1997 and makes public access defibrillators.
It is based in Belfast, at the Harbour Estate where all HeartSine defibrillators are made on site. HeartSine employs over 140 people in Belfast with a global distribution network servicing over 70 countries in 34 languages.
HeartSine was acquired by Physio-Control in October 2015 and then Stryker in April 2016. HeartSine is now part of Stryker Medical. Stryker is one of the world’s leading medical technology companies and, together with our customers, we are driven to make healthcare better.
The Company offers a diverse array of innovative products and services in Orthopaedics, Medical and Surgical, and Neurotechnology and Spine that help improve patient and hospital outcomes. Stryker is active in over 100 countries around the world and had revenues in excess of $10billion in 2016.

McErlain’s Bakery, was founded in 1968 by the parents of the six brothers who are involved in it today.
From a simple home bakery founded on the premise: ‘Never sell what you wouldn’t eat yourself,’ Genesis Crafty has become a £22m operation, supplying top retailers in the UK & Ireland including M&S, Tesco, Waitrose, Sainsbury’s, the Henderson Group and the Musgrave Group.
Brian McErlain has been the driving force behind the bakery’s meteoric growth. Sharing the Paradox Oils Export Success Story – April 2016

Sharing the Old Bushmills Distillery Export Success Story – March 2016
Dating back to 1608, the Bushmills Distillery is the oldest licensed distillery in the world. As of 2015, it has transitioned from ownership by Diageo plc to Casa Cuervo. The distillery is a popular tourist attraction, with around 120,000 visitors per year. All of the whiskey bottled under the Bushmills whiskey brand is produced at the Bushmills Distillery. A licence to distill in the area was granted to Sir Thomas Phillipps in 1608 by King JamesI, and the 1608 date is printed on the labels of the Bushmills brand whiskey. It uses water drawn from Saint Columb’s Rill which is a tributary of the River Bush.
“Export is at the heart of our continuing success story” – that’s according to David Gosnell, Chairman of The Old Bushmills Distillery, one of Northern Ireland’s leading and oldest exporters. Mr Gosnell was speaking at the latest ‘Danske Bank Export First’ event which took place at the world famous Old Bushmills Distillery.

Norbrook Laboratories hosted this Inspirational Event, on this occasion with the Chair of the Committee for Enterprise, Trade and Investment and Dr Andrew McCormick, Permanent Secretary for the Department of Enterprise, Trade and Investment. Norbrook Laboratories are a true innovator and dedicated to novel research and revolutionary processes and products within the pharmaceutical industry.
R&D is key to Norbrook’s company’s structure, investing more than 10% of its turnover annually in research and development of new products meaning the company is at the forefront of formulation technology and has developed many new chemical routes for the synthesis of active materials. Norbrook has formulated and registered more than 800 products in 120 countries.

The third event took place in the Ulster Museum, 26 guests heard the inspirational growth story of Automated Intelligence from Mark Godfrey and Simon Cole.

Sharing the Devenish Nutrition Export Success Story – March 2015
