Heathrow Airport & British Chambers of Commerce Roundtable
Venue:Ten Square Hotel, 10 Donegall Square South, Belfast, BT1 5JD
This private roundtable event, hosted by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Heathrow Airport and British Chambers of Commerce takes place on 14 March 2018 at Ten Square Hotel, Belfast. Discussions on the day will focus on the benefits of Heathrow expansion to Northern Ireland and how the project will generate economic growth across the country.
The discussion will be focused on the regional benefits that Heathrow Airport expansion will create, and how these benefits, in terms of jobs, improving domestic connectivity and ensuring Britain is open for trade post-Brexit, could unlock further jobs and economic growth. We would like to hear your thoughts on how we can maximise the opportunity for our region.
This event forms part of a national programme of roundtables, taking place all over the UK, and is an opportunity for you to contribute to Heathrow Airport’s National Conversation. The event will bring together local politicians, local businesses, LEPs, as well as civic leaders and other relevant stakeholders. A senior director from Heathrow will kick off the session with a short presentation, before opening up the discussion.
The Government selected Heathrow as its preferred choice for airport expansion in the south east in October 2016. This decision came after three-year process of examination by the Airports Commission. The Government is expected to schedule an important vote in Parliament on the Airport’s National Policy Statement later this year, which is the policy framework for Heathrow expansion.
