Google to join over 700 businesses at NI Chamber Annual Networking Conference in Belfast
Technology giant Google will join over 700 businesses from across Northern Ireland at a large-scale networking conference in Belfast next week.
Gori Yahaya, Head of Training at Google’s Digital Garage, a digital skills training platform, will provide a keynote address at the Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry ‘Annual Networking Conference and Business Showcase’ at St George’s Market on Tuesday 12 September 2017 from 8.30am-1.00pm.
The conference, now in its seventh year, is designed to give companies from across Northern Ireland the opportunity to meet, engage and participate in networking activities aimed at creating new business connections. The event will also feature a large market place with 100 companies showcasing their products and services.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to attend a number of seminars addressing current key business topics such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
From 25 May 2018, all businesses that hold personal data will have to guarantee that their data procedures are fit for purpose and compliant with the new regulation. While the GDPR is an EU-initiative, the UK government has already made it clear that the legislation will still take effect in the UK after Brexit. Businesses that are found to be non-compliant risk potential fines of up to €20 million or 4% of annual worldwide turnover.
Registrations for the event, which is being held in partnership with headline sponsor Dublin Airport and supporting sponsor Belfast City Council, can be made online at www.northernirelandchamber.com or by telephone on 028 90 244113.
