NI Chamber: Some of Northern Ireland’s biggest companies ready to buy at ‘meet the buyer’ event
Sean Largey (Tesco); Sandra Scannell (NI Chamber) and Mark Cunningham (Bank of Ireland UK) launch the latest meet the buyer event.
Businesses from across Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are being encouraged to come along and ‘meet the buyer’ at The Canal Court Hotel in Newry on 25 May 2016 at the latest event hosted by Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NI Chamber) in partnership with Bank of Ireland UK.
There are currently a number of high-profile buyers wishing to meet with local businesses on the day including Avondale Foods; BA Components; Coca Cola Hellenic Bottling Company; Glen Dimplex; Harland & Wolff; Kingspan; McAleer & Rushe; McAuley Engineering; NI Water; Severfield; Terex; Telestack; Tesco and Ulster University.
The event, which forms part of the NI Chamber and Bank of Ireland UK cross-border ‘Connecting for Growth’ programme, will allow businesses to make a pitch to these buyers whilst networking and developing links with each other through a number of activities including speed networking.
Sandra Scannell, Head of Business Services at NI Chamber, said:
“Unlike other meet the buyer initiatives, Connecting for Growth is open to any business that has a product or service our buyers are interested in purchasing. There is no restriction on size, sector or support already received through the public sector. The programme is about creating sales opportunities, building networks and facilitating growth.”
Mark Cunningham, Regional Business Development Manager at Bank of Ireland UK, added:
“We partner on this programme with NI Chamber as it is one which is real, tangible and interactive. Participants will have the opportunity to pitch to buyers across a range of sectors, access business advice and network to explore the potential of doing business together. With the quality and breadth of buyers signed up already, we anticipate a strong demand for the event.”
