The Northern Ireland Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Star Alliance global network of leading airlines, brought together six of Northern Ireland’s home grown exporters to act as mentors in the first ever Speed Mentoring event for export focused businesses on 10 November 2010.
Mentors for the day included:
- Steve McIlwraith, Managing Director, Avalon Guitars
- David Raymond, Chairman, BASE
- Liam O’Hagan, Managing Director, Delap & Waller
- Maurice Patterson, Head of Trade Services, Invest NI
- Mark Nodder, Managing Director, Wright Bus
- William McKeown, Managing Director, Yardmaster
The event followed the format of 15 minutes sessions with each mentor sitting with small groups of attendees during each session and then moving on to the next group. Participants therefore not only had access to all of the mentors but also were able to share experiences with each other.
In addition to the six mentors above, Maurice Patterson, Head of Trade Services, Invest NI also provided advice and assistance on the support available to exporting companies.
